Top 4 Resources for Saving Stories

There are many resources to help you save your important stories, whether they be family stories, origin stories, corporate, entrepreneurial or relationship stories, or a recount of an important event, voyage or time in your life. â€‹

Here are a few of the best resources for recording, transcribing and saving stories.

It's always great if you can make your recordings with another person present.

Having an in-person helper as you record your stories, no matter which tool or option you choose, can help you to overcome some of the following common barriers:

  • Procrastination

  • "Never making the time"

  • Tech issues / frustrations

  • "I don't like talking to myself"

  • Editing can be frustrating

  • Stories shortened because of lack of follow-up / conversational questions

Having someone present with you, preferably scheduled to come (or call) on a regular schedule, can help overcome most or all of those barriers and actually get the results you want.
